It is the only student association at the Politecnico di Milano dedicated entirely to aeronautics. Its goals are to design and build model aircraft, especially fixed-wing drones, to reach the top of international competitions in the field.
Founded in 2022, it now has about 60 students from the engineering and design faculties of Politecnico di Milano. The association has two prototypes to its credit: Aethra, its first project, and Nyx, the drone of the 2023/24 academic year.

In addition to participating in competitions, FlyMi aims to serve as an educational bridge between academia and professional world, promoting partnerships with companies in the field to create a stimulating environment and provide its members with opportunities for practical learning and professional development. The association aims to create an environment where theory and practice meet to develop nascent ideas that will shape the future of aviation.
