First autonomous flight test

Last week, the Electronics, Propulsion, and Control department has completed its first autonomous flight test, marking a fundamental step in the development of our technologies! Our team, with great enthusiasm, had the opportunity to put themselves to the test in a truly unique and fascinating experience.

We traveled to Pontecurone (AL) Flying Field, where we met some members of PONTEVOLA, a non-profit sports association dedicated with passion and commitment to promoting flight through dynamic model aviation.

In this stimulating environment, our team was able to conduct a series of crucial tests to validate the algorithm they developed for autonomous flight. It was truly exciting to see our test drone take off, perform complex maneuvers, and land without human intervention. A moment that filled us with pride and satisfaction, knowing that the technology we have worked so hard on is finally taking shape!

The validation phase was made even more interesting thanks to the collaboration of one of PONTEVOLA’s expert pilots, who contributed with his experience, maneuvering the drone to help us calibrate and refine our system before the subsequent tests. Without his support, it would not have been possible to achieve the promising results we obtained!

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the entire group of PONTEVOLA model aircraft enthusiasts and in particular to their pilot, for welcoming us with such warmth and generosity, sharing their vast experience in the field of flight with us. It was truly a privilege to collaborate with them and we hope that this is only the first of many more exciting days of testing!”
