Fly Mi is the only student association at the Politecnico di Milano entirely dedicated to aeronautics. Its goal is to design, build, and test new aircraft models, particularly fixed-wing drones, with the ambition of excelling in the leading international competitions in the field.

Founded in 2022, the association now brings together around 70 students from the Engineering and Design faculties of the Politecnico di Milano. It has developed three prototypes: Aethra, the first completed project; Nyx, the drone developed for the 2023/24 academic year for the Air Cargo Challenge; and O.L.I.V.I.A., the first fully autonomous drone, which won the bronze medal at the UAS Challenge 2025.

In addition to its competitive activities, Fly Mi aims to serve as a bridge between the university and the professional world by fostering collaborations with companies in the aerospace sector. Its goal is to provide members with a stimulating environment, hands-on learning opportunities, and pathways for professional growth.
