Nyx
The first international competition
At the 2024 Air Cargo Challenge competition, Nyx achieved 27° place in the overall standings and first place in the technical drawing evaluation, a result that highlights the work carried out by the team in the design and technical documentation phase of the aircraft.

Nyx was designed with a high-wing,T-tail configuration and single electric motor. Propulsion was subject to the power limits set by the competition rules, while control of the aircraft remained manual.
The structure represented a significant evolution compared to the association’s first project. The team made a monocoque with layers of carbon fiber, fiberglass and Rohacell, through closed mold rolling.. This solution has made it possible to address the design and production of a composite aeronautical structure in a more advanced way.
To create the queue, the team introduced the use of 3D printing, made of light weight PLA through Vase Mode. The use of additive manufacturing allowed us to integrate a different construction technology into the project than traditional composite material processing.
