Heméra
The first drone with retractable landing gear
At the 2026 Air Cargo Challenge, Heméra ended up 27° overall and 16° in flight tests. As with previous projects, the design and technical documentation work achieved particularly significant recognition: the team took first place in the evaluation of the technical drawings.

The competition required carrying as many 33cl cans as possible, while simultaneously trying to maximize the aircraft’s speed and respecting the imposed propulsion limitations.
Compared to O.L.I.V.I.A., Heméra introduces an important evolution of the aerodynamic configuration. The aircraft adopts a low wing, a V-tail and retractable landing gear, while propulsion is entrusted to two electric motors with tractor propellers. The overall current is limited by the regulation to 30 A, divided into a maximum of 15 A for each motor. The aircraft control is manual.
Performance research led Heméra to reach a speed of 35 m/s during flight tests, consistent with design expectations. The introduction of retractable landing gear also represents a new design solution compared to Fly-Mi’s previous aircraft, as does the transition to the twin-engine configuration.
The main structure was made through closed mold rolling, using a carbon fiber sandwich and Rohacell. This technology was combined with different solutions depending on the needs of the individual components: forged carbon was used for the landing gear, while balsa wood was used for the tail.
The choice to combine different technologies and materials characterized Heméra’s development, which therefore maintained the association’s experience in building composite structures while introducing new construction solutions and an aircraft configuration profoundly different from that of O.L.I.V.I.A.
