Nyx
The first international competition
At the 2024 Air Cargo Challenge competition, Nyx achieved 27° place in the overall standings and first place in the technical drawing evaluation, a result that highlights the work carried out by the team in the design and technical documentation phase of the aircraft.

Nyx was designed with a high-wing, T-tail and single electric motor configuration. Propulsion was subject to the power limits set by the competition rules, while control of the aircraft remained manual.
The structure represented a significant evolution compared to the association’s first project. The team made a monocoque with layers of carbon fibre, glass fibre and Rohacell, through closed mould rolling. This solution has made it possible to address the design and production of a composite aeronautical structure in a more advanced way.
For the creation of the tail, the team introduced the use of 3D printing, made of lightweight PLA through Vase Mode. The use of additive manufacturing allowed to integrate a different construction technology into the project than traditional composite material processing.
